Samsung Reportedly to Be Working on New Tablet to Challenge Apple iPad mini and Google Nexus 7

It's reported that Samsung is working on a number of new tablets, one of which has already been confirmed by the head of the Korean tech giant's mobile division. That tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, would challenge the 7.9 inch Apple iPad mini and would be priced in the $249-$299 area. Besides, the screen is said to have resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which is the same resolution of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

In addition, the same report says that Samsung is looking to build a 7 inch tablet that will undercut the ASUS produced Google Nexus 7 in price. That tablet is priced at $199 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, to $299 for the 32GB Wi-Fi and HSPA+ model. The word is that Samsung is looking to sell the new 7 inch slate for $149 to $199.

Samsung is said to also be working on a new 10.1-inch tablet as the company aims to ship 40 million tablets this year after shipping 15 million in 2012. Samsung is trying to get the trio of new tablets out in the first half of the year before Apple introduces its new tablets.

It seems the Tablets battle is kicking off.Which party will you join?
