Apple to Reportedly Get Rid of Samsung as Chip Supplier

Apple & Samsung
Apple’s huge success in the mobile field has benefitted Samsung in various ways. On the one hand, it gave Samsung a step-by-step guide on how to improve its own devices, as revealed by an internal document used as evidence in a recent patent trial. On the other hand, it also made Apple the South Korea-based company’s biggest parts customer.

However, the ongoing patent fights between the two companies seemingly have adverse impact. It’s reported that Apple is diverting its component contracts away from Samsung step by step. Most recently, Apple is said to have moved from Samsung to Amperex Technology and Tianjin Lishen Battery for its iPad and MacBook batteries. Now, according to a new report, Apple is about to take a great action.

Who Made the Best Nexus Phone of Its Time?

Who made the beat Nexus phone of its time? Perhaps different people have different answer. But the latest news from PhoneArena shows that LG has made a better Nexus than Samsung or HTC.

What's interesting is that the second place has been taken not by a more modern phone like the Galaxy Nexus, but by the first Nexus ever - the NexusOne by HTC. This comes to show that smartphone users appreciate the quality design solutions - devices which not only pack the latest bells and whistles, but also have a premium look and feel to them. That last part is obviously something that Samsung is yet to master. For its next Nexus device, the Galaxy Nexus, Samsung had to streamline the design a bit, partly due to the new Android version the phone had to come with - ICS. This, combined with the fine specs and better overall execution allowed the Galaxy Nexus to position itself much higher than its predecessor.

It's safe to say that LG has hit a very good balance between form and function with the Nexus 4. The phone is more appealing than the Samsung ones before it, and even if it doesn't quite match the character of the Nexus One, it still has its incredible features and price to ultimately tip the scales in its favor.

Apple Wants Six More Samsung Products Added to Lawsuit, Including Galaxy Note II

It looks like Apple and Samsung have been keeping themselves busy with legal dealings during Thanksgiving and the days following the holiday. Just days after Samsung requested that the iPad mini, fourth generation iPad and fifth generation iPod touch be added to its lawsuit against Apple in California, FOSS Patents notes that Apple has fired back by asking that six Samsung products be included as well. Apple is seeking to add the SamsungGalaxy S III with Jelly Bean, GalaxyNote II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi, GalaxyTab 2 10.1, Galaxy Rugby Pro and Galaxy S III mini to the battle.

Apple actually already added the Galaxy S III to this very same, but we've recently seen the device begin to receive its update to Android 4.1 in several parts of the world, and so apparently Apple decided that it'd like to update its case with the newly-Jelly Bean S III. That also explains the GalaxyTab 8.9's inclusion in this list, as the device was recently bumped from Android 4.0 Honeycomb to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The rest of the devices are likely just being added because they're newly-released Samsung products, which is the same reason that Samsung recently targeted Apple's new iPad models. This case between Apple and Samsung is scheduled to go to trial in March 2014, so expect to see more of this from both companies in the coming months.

Samsung Galaxy S IV Specs Leaked (Rumor)

Samsung Galaxy S III is an excellent handset, still enjoying great sales, which even beats that of iPhone 5. Recently, it’s rumored that the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S III is coming.
Samsung Galaxy S IV
Talking about the specs, Samsung Galaxy S IV (or S4) is rumored featuring 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display. A Korean site is reporting that in addition to the fully HD 1920x1080 screen, we can expect to see it on display at CES 2013.

Other sources reported that the new S4 will have a 13 megapixel camera, a quad-core 2GHz Exynos 5450 processor with an 8-core GPU, and 64GB of storage. The memory chip is said to be thinner, thus contributing to a reduction in the thickness of the overall phone.

If all thess expectations are met and we get to see this new device at CES 2013 (or hopefully sooner if it leaks), then we can expect to see a release of the new Galaxy S4 to the public sometime in the second quarter, about one year after the Galaxy S III was announced.

How do you think of these specs if they are true?
