After Samsung introduced Exynos 5
Octa chip at CES 2013, from the report of Korea Times, Samsung Galaxy Note III is
rumored to have a 6.3 inch screen (vs. its 5.5-inch screen predecessor) with 8-core
processor, which is expected to be launched later of this year. This chipset combines
4 high-performance cores with 4 low-performance cores. However, only one set of
four cores can be active at one time, so this isn’t a ‘true’ octa-core CPU.
If these specs prove true, the Samsung Galaxy
Note III will be a little larger than the 6.1 inch Huawei Ascend Mate and could
further blur the line that separates a tablet from a smartphone. The time of
their hybrid (phablet) may be coming.
