After the rumor of cheaper
version if iPhone may be released in the second half 2013 from Wall Street
Journal, Digitimes reported the low-cost iPhone’s chassis could be sourced from
an unnamed U.S. electronic manufacturing service provider.
The chassis for the low-priced Apple iPhone was also rumored
being made from plastic and metal instead of the current aluminum-and-glass on
the iPhone
5, while a "special design" will allow the metal parts from the
inside of the phone to be seen through the see-through nature of the chassis.
Sources say the components required for the
rumored handset are currently undergoing a validation process ahead of an
expected launch date in the second half of 2013.
