Android 4.0 Slide Phone: Samsung Stratosphere II — Upgrade Version of Stratosphere

Posted by ETrade Supply on September 29th, 2012

Last month, news has it that Verizon is planning to introduce the follow-up of Samsung Stratosphere(SCH-i405), which was very popular and sold well, in the late 2012 and will be released as Samsung Stratosphere II (SCH-i415), another slide phone with android 4.0.
Although the phone is not released yet, some parts about this phone have already been leaked. Today we have got the LCD and Digitizer Assembly of Samsung Stratosphere II. And below are some comparisons between Stratosphere II and Stratosphere.
First of all, the shape and size of the two screens is almost the same, 4.0 inches screen. The only slight difference is that the edge of i415 looks a little bit curve and round while the i405 looks flat and straight.

As to the design, from the top of the front side, the sensor hole on the right changes its shape and position. And one more sensor hole is added on the left corner. Moving to the bottom, since the i415 is equipped with Android 4.0 OS, the three navigation keys on the left are the same as those Android 4.0 phones. However, another function key is added into the right corner. What is this key for? What kind of innovation will this phone bring us? Perhaps we need to wait until the announcement of the phone.
From the back side, we can see at the first sight that the version number of LCD is changed from GE35 to GE78. That is to say the LCD flex cable ribbon is re-designed. The size of the i415 is larger than that of i405. On the left part, two sockets are added, which are considered to be moved from the logic board. And the socket for navigation flex cable ribbon is also re-designed, from 6 pin to 9 pin. On the right part, the position of LCD socket also slightly changes.
Moving to the digitizer flex cable ribbon on the right corner, both are shown “GE35”, and the data shown on the surface are almost the same. So we guess that the function of i415 digitizer will probably remain the same as the i405.
From below information of the device, we can see that the i415 is mainly upgraded in the hardware, which can be perfectly support the upgraded Android 4.0.4 OS performance. Will this new device hit the market? Let's wait and see.

A Brief Summary of iPhone 5 Problems

Millions of iPhone 5 were sold within several hours once Apple launched the iPhone 5 on 21, Sept 2012. However, after people used the iPhone 5, they found many problems of it. Now I’d like to have a summary of these problems from the net friends.

First, it’s said that the back aluminum plate on the iPhone 5 was slight scratched. Many customers shared the photos of very small nicks on the back of their new phones. Apple customer service has gotten many complaints about the issue since the launch.

Then, it’s reported that iPhone 5 was easy to paint off, especially the four corners. Therefore, a iPhone 5 protectivecase is necessary to protect your new phone.

Finally, it came to the screen. It’s found that there were many bright spots on the screen. There were also light leak on the top of the phone. Besides, it emerged ripple if you press the screen slight hard. What’s worse, some customers reported that there were “bubbles” if they press the touch screen. Perhaps all these problems are related with iPhone 5 screen adopting in cell technology.

And we also know the Apple Map problem. We have to ask what happened to iPhone 5. We’ll update the news about the quality of iPhone 5.

iPhone 5: the reason of its success

Although iPhone 5 didn’t surprise us so much, we cannot ignore its success. iPhone 5 sold 2 million units in its first day of pre-order, which is much more than that of iPhone 4S. Then what’re the reasons of its success?

Perhaps most people will say it’s because of the following iPhone 5 innovations: sleeker design, bigger display, 4G LTE, OLED display, better battery life, more storage, improved Siri. Is it really what people want? We can find many of the features in other smartphones. Then what’s the real reason?

I think the most important reason is the Apple brand, which was established for so many years by Steven Jobs. As a tech giant, Apple has promoted the development of technology. Therefore, people think Apple can give them something new every time. However, compared with the former iPhone, iPhone 5 didn’t give us too many new things since many of the features are just like the leaks before.

Besides, compared with other phone brands launch many phones each year, Apple only launches one iPhone within a year. People just can’t wait another year for the next iPhone.

All in all, the reasons can’t be listed all. If you know, welcome to add.

What’s the Mission of Cell Phone Development companies?

Recently, there are so many new smartphones emerged in our life that we don’t know which one to choose, because each one has its own features and advantages.

I have read an article about 5 hot alternatives to iPhone 5 on Yahoo. It described the most important feature of each phone, such as if you want a killer screen, consider: Motorola Droid Razr HD; if you want a solid cameraphone, consider: Nokia Lumia 920; if you want a long-lasting battery, consider: Samsung Galaxy S III; if you want a great-sounding phone, consider: HTC One X; if you want a powerful smartphone that doesn't break the bank, consider: Sony Mobile Xperia ion.

I just wonder what if a phone combined with all the advantages of the above-mentioned phones. Then we must go for it without thinking. Unfortunately, such phone doesn’t exist. Since there are various phones in the market, why cannot we find such phone? It seems that each phone has its advantages and disadvantages.

Cell Phone Technology Companies developed lots of phones every year. Is it really that each phone is necessary to be developed? Except making fortune, what’s the mission of Cell Phone Development Companies?

As far as I’m concerned, as a part of technology field, cell phone companies should shoulder the responsibility of promoting the development of science and technology and society. They should make the cell phone more convenient for people. Besides, cell phone companies should have more innovation, because many phones are just like the same.

Hope the manufacturers keep their mission in the mind and pay more attention to the phone quality rather than quantity.
