Samsung’s New Flagship Model GT-I9500 Could be the First TIZEN Device

It’s been reported recently by SamMobile that the model number for the new Flagship handset by Samsung will be the GT-I9500 and the GT-I9505, the latter possibly being the LTE version. The Galaxy S III’s model number is GT-I9300, so this could be the new Galaxy SIV, though it’s doubtful that will be the name. This new handset could be the much anticipated first TIZEN device.

Google and Motorola to Release 'X phone' next year, Points at Apple and Samsung

Google is reported to have tasked subsidiary Motorola to work on a sophisticated smartphone to compete with Apple's iPhone and products made by Samsung, when released sometime next year, will be the first in-house handset from the Android creator.

According to the report from The Wall Street Journal, the handset is known as “X Phone.” The device will reportedly be equipped with a “top-notch” camera and photo software, which previous Google-branded handsets have lacked. Motorola is also said to be interested in using a bendable display and materials that would make the X Phone more durable. Some of the phone’s features were said to be draining the device’s battery life, however, and the company is also said to be having obstacles with manufacturing and supply-chain management. It’s said that Motorola engineers will begin work on an “X tablet” when launches “the X Phone.”

Another Security Threat Found for Samsung’s Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II

For the second time this year, there is a serious security threat to Galaxy users. According to a member called “alepzain” on XDA Developers forum, Samsung’s line of Exynos 4 processors used in their flagship Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II smartphones may make the phones vulnerable to app-based attacks. A security hole in the Exynos processors allows for Play Store app to potentially break in to the phone’s RAM or inject malicious code into its kernel.

Apple’s iPhone 4S VS iPhone 5 in Sales Volume

The latest news shows that shares of Apple were down more than 25% last month from a September high of $705.07 as investors began to panic about Apple’s future. The stock has bounced back slightly since late November, however a new report questioning Apple’s biggest money-earner could sour investor sentiment yet again.

The analyst trimmed Apple’s iPhone sales estimates by 5 million units this fiscal year, and iPad sales estimates were cut by 2 million units. But the most alarming part of his note comes in the form of an observation from his supply chain sources.

“Some of our Chinese sources do not expect the iPhone5 to do as well as the iPhone 4S,” Millunovich wrote.

The UBS analyst sees iPhone production dropping to 25 million units in the first calendar quarter next year, which doesn’t bode well at all for June-quarter sales. Apple could get an early pick-up in 2013, however, as earlier reports suggest Apple might launch a refreshed iPhone5S next summer.

Apple Has Occupied 26% of Global LTE Market with just One LTE Phone

Apple’s first LTE-compatible handset, the iPhone 5, has had an explosive debut quarter and is said to have already captured 26.7% of the global LTE device market and Apple became the world’s second largest LTE device marker. The company’s success has taken a toll on Samsung’s share of the LTE market, which dropped from 50.9% in the previous quarter to 40% following strong competition from Apple and other smartphone vendors, TheNextWeb reported. Despite launching new flagship devices, Motorola and LG both saw their market shares fall from 15% in 2011 to 6.7% and 9.1%, respectively. The research firm estimates that global LTE subscriptions in 2012 will have surged more than fivefold to 50 million devices, an increase from 9 million in 2011. Earlier reports predicted that LTE shipments will more than double in 2013 from 50 million units to 188 million, and increase further to 586 million smartphones by 2016.

Samsung Tops in China's Smartphone Market while Apple Drops to Sixth

From the released ranking of the top smartphone manufacturers in China for the third quarter, Samsung remains on top. China is the top mobile phone market in the world. Lenovo is second with relatively Coolpad moving up to third. Dropping one spot to fourth is another local manufacturer, ZTE, with Chinese firm Huawei finishing fifth.

You must ask that how about the Apple. Apple drops to sixth in China during the third quarter, down from fourth place in the prior three month period. The data show that Apple's market share was less than 10% in the country during the period, which saw a record 60 million units shipped from China. The metrics firm expects Apple to snap back in the fourth quarter since the Apple iPhone 5 just received regulatory approval to be sold in the country
and will launch on December 14th.
