RIM Released BlackBerry 10 OS Devices, BlackBerry Z10 and Q10

RIM Announced Its First BlackBerry 10 OS Devices, BlackBerry Z10 and Q10
BlackBerry Z10 and Q10
As expected, RIM announced the BlackBerry 10 OS, which is software developed in-house based on QNX, along with Two Handsets, the all-touch Z10 and the QWERTY-equipped Q10 on 30th, Jan 2013. Now let’s look into the specs of these two devices.
BlackBerry Z10 specs
With the neutral- and stylish-looking design, BlackBerry Z10 is a plastic and metal device with a rubberized back and two color options available, black and white. It’s very similar in design to the BlackBerry PlayBook and features an all-glass panel fitted into a metal frame. On the right side you’ll find a volume up and down key and mute key all in a sand-blasted metal form. On top is an on/off/power button and 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. On the left, there is a microUSB port and a miniHDMI port. As to the display, Z10 has a 4.2″ LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels (356 ppi pixel density), which is as same as the leaked BB Z10 LCD assembly that ETrade Supply revealed before.

In terms of the processor and memory, BlackBerry Z10 is a dual-core Krait CPU at 1.5 GHz and features 2GB RAM and the microSD (up to 32GB) card. With an 8MP camera featuring autofocus, 1080p video recording and an LED flash, BlackBerry Z10 camera is just average from the image quality. Besides, BlackBerry Z10 supports NFC and the Li-ion 1800 mAh battery.
BlackBerry Q10 specs
BlackBerry Q10 keeps the trademark hardware QWERTY keyboard with a 3.1″ square AMOLED screen with 720 x 720 resolution and 330ppi pixel density. The BlackBerry Q10 has a stainless steel frame and an “edge-to-edge” glass on the front. The chipset of the Q10 is the same as the one on the Z10. BlackBerry Q10 is a good choice for those who still like a physical keyboard.
The BlackBerry Z10 will release in UK first from all the major carriers and retailers, with a choice between getting it on contract or pre-paid. It goes to Canada on February 5 for $150 (with three-year contract). US consumers will have to wait until March though. Then they’d be able to snag it for $200 from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint (with a two-year contract). While the BlackBerry Q10 is expected to hit carriers globally in April.

The White Nexus 4 Released?

We had heard a rumor that there was a white Nexus 4 for a long time, which was planned for release in December, but that never happened. We never saw any pictures of the rumored smartphone, but an anonymous source just sent us what could be the fabled white Nexus 4.

According to the EXIF data on the image, the picture was taken with an LG Optimus G last week. This may mean the image is coming from someone within LG, or it may not mean anything. It certainly looks like a white Nexus 4, and you can even see the reflective pattern on the bottom right that was a distinctive feature of the black Nexus 4.

We ran the image through FotoForensics, and it doesn't seem to be photoshopped, so it could be the real thing. Of course, this would only confirm the existence of the white Nexus 4. We still would have no idea when the device is planned for release.

As matter of fact, this Apple's new device is a transition between iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, fifth-generation iPod touch, the blog claimed that the cheaper iPhone will have a 4-inch screen, like the latest iPhone 5, a bottom like the latest iPod touch, and a shape most like the iPod classic. Finally the reports said the device will likely feature a shape most as the iPod classic.

HTC M7 Leaked Parts

HTC M7 Housing Parts
Last week we came across a couple of parts which may be from the not yet released HTC M7. Whether these parts would be for the final version or just a prototype, we can’t be sure. But here are the facts. One part is a rear housing. It looks very similar to the HTC DNA but without the metallic buttons and camera ring as you can see in the photos below.
HTC M7 Back Cover
HTC M7 Back Cover
This new piece is 7cm wide and 13.7cm tall. It has a flat black finish all over the back of the housing, but the sides are a glossy black. Around the edges there’s a hole for the USB at the bottom, a hole for the earphones on top, a power button on top left, volume key on the right side, below this towards the bottom is another button for the camera, and on the left side a slot for the SIM card. Sadly the inside doesn’t feature something we saw on the DNA, the rubber gasket. So can’t drop this one in the toilet. Have a look at the photos to see any other details. The BeatsAudio logo on the back makes it a little less likely it’s a prototype. But I guess we’ll find out for sure in a few weeks.

The other part we have is the front housing. Not too much to say about this except it seems the LCD will be the expected 4.7 inch, as would fit nicely the empty space. It’s impossible to measure for sure, because the LCD goes under the bigger front glass which will fit in the empty space. Have a look at the pictures for details. It does snap into the rear housing very nicely and tight.

Around two months ago, the purported iPhone 5s the rear housing was leaked on the web. Now new photos of parts not only for iPhone 5S, but also for iPhone 6 surfaced again. The purported mages that are claimed to be the parts for the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 have been published by a French website. One picture shows what the parts look like the louder speaker unit from the iPhone 5. However, that is uncertain that the parts pictured are destined for upcoming iPhone versions based solely on the images.

According to the site, nowhereelse.fr, Apple will rollout three versions of the iPhone in 2013 with the Apple iPhone 5S providing an incremental update before major changes are made on the Apple iPhone 6. A third model, called the Apple iPhone Math or the Apple iPhone +, would offer a large sized version of the phone, possibly 4.8 inches, to compete with Android phablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
The additions to the iPhone line would also come with alterations to Apple’s release schedule, according to the report. One of the rumored models would launch between March and July of this year, while a second would be released near the end of 2013. Motorola X Phone with Key Lime Pie to Debut at Google I/O?

Google I/O 2013
We’ve already heard about the Motorola X Phone before. Now the new rumors about the phone in an Android forum revealed that the Motorola X Phone will come with a 5-inch display, which will be edge-to-edge like the Motorola DROID RAZR M and run Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie. According to Droid Forum, the latest Motorola X won’t be a Nexus device, but will be available on multiple carriers, and Google might try to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung GALAXY Note II. Meanwhile, the fact that Google owns Motorola will be first promoted.
However, Droid Forum says, “Please take this rumor with a grain of salt, because we couldn’t find any other info across the web to back it up; however, if it is just a fan-boy’s imaginings, it seems very logical and well-developed.”
Well, if the Motorola X with Key Lime Pie will debut at Google I/O, some traditions might be broken since Google doesn’t usually introduce non-Nexus devices at Google I/O. Will Google do that?

Samsung Galaxy Note III Leaked with 8-core Processor and 6.3-inch Screen

Samsung GALAXY Note III Leaked with 8-core Processor and 6.3-inch Screen
After Samsung introduced Exynos 5 Octa chip at CES 2013, from the report of Korea Times, Samsung Galaxy Note III is rumored to have a 6.3 inch screen (vs. its 5.5-inch screen predecessor) with 8-core processor, which is expected to be launched later of this year. This chipset combines 4 high-performance cores with 4 low-performance cores. However, only one set of four cores can be active at one time, so this isn’t a ‘true’ octa-core CPU.
If these specs prove true, the Samsung Galaxy Note III will be a little larger than the 6.1 inch Huawei Ascend Mate and could further blur the line that separates a tablet from a smartphone. The time of their hybrid (phablet) may be coming.

Facebook Reveals ‘Graph Search,’ a search engine for Facebook

Facebook on Tuesday held a press conference at its Menlo Park, California headquarters where it announced “Graph Search,” a search engine of sorts designed to allow users to search for content on Facebook. According to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Graph Search allows users to search for news posts, status updates, photos, locations and more within the Facebook Social Graph. Graph Search is also privacy aware, so only results pointing to public data and posts from within a user’s network of friends will be visible to the user performing the search. The new search engine will launch as a beta and will index data from more than 1 billion Facebook users.
“Graph Search will appear as a bigger search bar at the top of each page,” Facebook explained in a press release. “When you search for something, that search not only determines the set of results you get, but also serves as a title for the page. You can edit the title – and in doing so create your own custom view of the content you and your friends have shared on Facebook.”
The release continued, “Graph Search and web search are very different. Web search is designed to take a set of keywords (for example: ‘hip hop’) and provide the best possible results that match those keywords. With Graph Search you combine phrases (for example: ‘my friends in New York who like Jay-Z’) to get that set of people, places, photos or other content that’s been shared on Facebook. We believe they have very different uses.”
However, it should be made clear that whether this "Graph Search" will be privacy infringement.

Cheaper iPhone Rumored May Feature U.S.-made Chassis and See-Through Design

After the rumor of cheaper version if iPhone may be released in the second half 2013 from Wall Street Journal, Digitimes reported the low-cost iPhone’s chassis could be sourced from an unnamed U.S. electronic manufacturing service provider.
The chassis for the low-priced Apple iPhone was also rumored being made from plastic and metal instead of the current aluminum-and-glass on the iPhone 5, while a "special design" will allow the metal parts from the inside of the phone to be seen through the see-through nature of the chassis.
Sources say the components required for the rumored handset are currently undergoing a validation process ahead of an expected launch date in the second half of 2013.
